Steps to Obtain a Tribal 8(a) Sole Source Award

Certification of the Tribal Business
Identification of opportunity - The Government agency identifies a need that LRENA (Tribal 8(a) can fulfill and determines that only one source is capable of meeting the requirements (non-competitive)
Engagement between Agency and LRENA (JV) - The Federal agency contact LRENA to discuss the scope and feasibility of the project, preliminary pricing and capability
Submission of Offering Letter - The contracting officer submits an offering letter to the SBA requesting to award a sole source contract to the selected Tribal 8(a) firm.
SBA Review and Acceptance - the SBA reviews the offering letter and verifies eligability. Upon approval, the SBA notifies the agency to proceed with the contract award.
Contract Award - the agency awards the sole source contract directly to LRENA. who then begins performance under the terms of the contract.
